Sløyfelabben at Oslo S

Martin Slaatto

22.6.2005 - 1.8.2005

The performance artist Martin Slaatto explored and challenged our conceptions of what the public room really is.

Sløyfelabben at Oslo S consisted of an installation in the façade room and on the façade of Oslo S. Here, Martin Slaatto every day carried out his performances. The project was found in the intersection between theatre, performance and visual art. Sløyfelabben på Olso S was an urban extension of Martin Slaatto’s artistic project Slaatto-sløyfa. Slaatto-sløyfa explores the opportunities and the limits for physical excertion in the forests round Oslo. The choice of Oslo S as the venue for the process presents issues that are very topical: How much space do we need? What is the public room? Who defines the public room? What can it be used for and who owns it?
